Ray came to us having just brought a EV. He was using a trickle charger from a mains socket outlet and wanted to install something more substantial to charge his car quicker.
We went through a number of options with Ray and he went for the my energi zappi charger. The beauty of this charge point is because of its built in RCD technology there was no need for additional earthing in the form an earth electrode.
We also talked to Ray about the potential of a solar PV install on his garage roof. He decided against the solar in the end but given the functionality of the Zappi solar charging mode he is ready in the future should he decide to install solar too. He will be able to charge his car from any surplus electricity his solar produces meaning he is charging from free electricity from the sun.
